On June 28, 2012, SOWMA hosted a Site and Soils Evaluation Workshop in Humboldt, SK. The class was attended by certified installers and Environmental Health officers from all over the province, with local media attending to report on the event. Students had the opportunity to investigate the soils on a number of plots in a new community development. The day was a great success as students learned how to assess soils to determine system type and sizing.
SOWMA would like to thank Prairie View Properties for allowing us use their site for this training and Jason Holtvogt of Holtvogt Sand and Gravel for coordinating the use of the property.
On August 30, 2012, SOWMA will again be hosting a practical training event in Humboldt. We will be offering the opportunity for interested parties to participate in the installation of a Sand Mound Treatment Field a short distance away from the Site and Soils Workshop location. For more information, or to register for this extremely educational workshop, please see the attached registration form or visit our website at https://sowma.ca/training/public-field-training/.
