A new Standard of Practice (SOP) has been adopted in the Province of Alberta. Persons that currently have an Alberta Private Sewage Certificate of Competency (PS ticket) must successfully complete an Update Training Course on the Alberta Private Sewage Systems Standard of Practice 2015. The update training must be successfully completed by March 31, 2017. After that date, a person who has not completed the update training will not qualify for renewing a Private Sewage Certificate of Competency.

The Alberta Onsite Wastewater Management Association (AOWMA) is delivering the required update course on the 2015 Standard of Practice. In recognition that many contractors and inspectors in Saskatchewan also hold an Alberta CoC, a course will be held in Lloydminster in June for those wishing to maintain their CoC (private sewage ticket).

Registration is now open. SOWMA members will receive the AOWMA membership rate.
