SOWMA had the privilege of offering update training to the Environmental Public Health Officers (EPHO’s) from across Saskatchewan. The EPHO’s oversee crucial onsite wastewater design and inspections on First Nations Reserve Land. The EPHO’s are employed by Indigenous Services Canada or Individual Tribal Councils. Northern Inter-Tribal Health (NITHA) was the host for the event. One session was held in Saskatoon and one in Regina. The course included an overview of the key changes to the Guideline, application of the guideline to the design process, in field site and soils assessment and a final examination. A total of 20 officers participated in this training.
