Convention and Trade Show

Plans are in full swing for the upcoming convention and trade show in Saskatoon on February 10.

A focus for the convention presentations will be the more sophisticated systems that are becoming more and more prevalent in the onsite wastewater industry. The need for better soil & site evaluation in order to design and build these systems and the increased cost to the homeowner to have a system installed will be discussed.

One of the most difficult things for some contractors is knowing what type of system would be the best choice for the homeowner, but being unsuccessful in selling the homeowner on the system based on cost. During the convention program, this situation will be discussed and delegates will learn how to present this difficult information to the homeowner.

Saskatchewan’s private sewage regulations are no longer under the Plumbing and Drainage regulation, but are now under the Private Sewage Regulation. Delegates will learn what has brought about this change to the regulation and what it means to them and their business.

The cumulative effect of building higher density housing in rural areas will be examined as we look a the process for subdivision development which has undergone substantial change over the past couple of years.

The trade show will be open for viewing all day long and those working in the onsite industry in Saskatchewan are encouraged to come and support the suppliers to the industry. There will be technical presentations available and door prizes to be won.

The day will culminate in the second Annual General Meeting and banquet . Elections will be held for board positions for 2012.
